Project Background

Anglo Tasman was appointed by Auckland Airport to install a new High Voltage (HV) cable for the ring main feeder and to subsequently commission and test.

Installation of the HV cable was designed to support the expanding infrastructure of Auckland Airport. This meant scoping the needs of the project to fit the Airports energy requirements both now and into the future.

The project required the development of a design and installation plan, along with a project commissioning plan.

In addition to the cable design process and electrical installation, Anglo Tasman produced O&M manuals to help ensure ongoing operational efficiency.

Challenges

Our biggest challenge proved to be managing our requirements around the work of other contractors at the site. This required careful management and planning, along with smart use of the site location. Despite the challenges, the High Voltage cable installation was delivered to specification and on time.
