A Sustainable Response to COVID-19

The average person spends 90% of their time on this earth indoors, it is understandable that airborne pathogens have been getting a lot of attention since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The quality of the air you breathe indoors is among the most important aspects of any healthy environment. Now more than ever, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems are crucial to accomplishing this. Better yet, HVAC equipment can do this critical remediation work in a much more cost-effective manner than the methods previously mentioned.

Every HVAC unit is initially designed and installed based on the size of the building or space being treated, the intended load within the space, and of course, the specific business operating conditions for different vertical markets. However, after just a few years in operation, the capacity, efficiency and thermal transfer ability of any HVAC unit degrades significantly. This performance degradation inhibits the HVAC unit from effectively removing both humidity and heat out of the supported space, meaning it takes much longer to do its work.

This is where CryoGenX4 comes in. Installed while a unit is running, CryoGenX4 restores the heat and humidity transfer ability of the equipment within a matter of hours to a few days. As proven in comprehensive testing at Underwriters Laboratory (UL) in 2015, CryoGenX4 helps any HVAC system produce optimal internal air quality temperatures and humidity levels as if it were new, at the same time saving up to 20% or more in energy costs – all for a fraction of the cost of buying a new unit.

In addition to CryoGenX4, there are other simple, low-cost solutions you can implement within your office, retail space, gym or classroom to improve air quality and slow the spread of COVID-19. All are a MUST in today’s world. They include:

·        Upgrading the quality of your air filters and replacing them more often without adversely affecting design air flow of the space. An air filter’s Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) measures how effectively the filter stops dust and other contaminants from passing through the filter and into the air A typical household or commercial filter generally carries a 5 MERV rating while operating rooms will have ratings in the 15 or 16 MERV range.

·        Changing your Fan to ON rather than AUTO on your thermostat when in COOLING Mode to freshen air constantly and also integrating outside air whenever possible.

·        Reverse the rotation of any ceiling fans in your facility to pull air up and away from people to limit airborne
